Asa Mader

Asa Mader is an American director, screenwriter, and visual artist with a deep appreciation for French culture. His academic journey led him to study cinema and new technologies at Brown University and New York University, where he received early recognition with the prestigious Roberta Joslin Award for art excellence.

Mader’s artistic journey spans across London, Paris, and New York, showcasing his versatility and impact on the global stage.

His directorial debut achieved acclaim as part of the official selection at the Venice Film Festival, marking the beginning of a diverse creative spectrum that expanded to include theatrical installations. Mader co-wrote several audio Soundwalks, including the official Da Vinci Code tour at the Louvre. He presented large-format cinematic and video installations in Bombay for the exhibition ‘Bombay: Maximum City.’ His collaboration with choreographer Benjamin Millepied resulted in captivating dance-cinema pieces.

Additionally, Mader presented an immersive cinematic experience at Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy, utilizing panoramic and holographic 3D projections developed in collaboration with Dassault Systèmes. Collaborating with Golden Lion artist Arthur Jafa and Kahlil Joseph, Mader produced the documentary ‘Dreams Are Colder Than Death,’ a poignant exploration of black identity in America.

His commissioned works for international brands such as Issey Miyake, Persol, Puma, Ralph Lauren, and NOWNESS, coupled with appearances on European television and international exhibitions, underscore his significant contributions to the world of filmmaking and visual arts. Mader has also played a key role in serving renowned fashion and luxury brands, including YSL, Versace, Valentino, Bulgari, Cacharel, Dolce&Gabbana, Pucci, Paul Smith, Sisley, Missoni, Moschino, Vivienne Westwood, and Oscar de la Renta.
